Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? I honestly don’t know where this year has gone. As I mentioned in the October Blog Tag, bloggers often tag each other in Q & A style posts to help them get to know each other better. I’ve been tagged by Emma from Emma Reed to take part in this year’s festive edition – the Christmas tag.
As always with tag posts, you nominate a selection of bloggers you think would like to take part at the end of your post…more on that later.
Anyway, on with the Christmas tag!
Christmas Tag Questions
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE?
I’m not actually sure! I like the old-fashioned movies the best, but some of the modern classics like Home Alone and Scrooged are up there for me. I’ve never seen The Nightmare Before Christmas but I reckon that would totally be up my alley as well.
WHERE DO YOU USUALLY SPEND YOUR HOLIDAY?
At home (shocker). Now that I’m a parent I think it’s important to have Christmas around my little girl, so she can stay in and play with her new gifts as much as she likes. I’m not one for dragging her here there and everywhere just to keep others happy. Anyone else is more than welcome to come to us if they’d like to though!
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DREAM PLACE TO VISIT FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON?
Anywhere in Scandinavia! Or maybe a log cabin in Scotland, that’d be lovely. I’d really like to have a friends-based Christmas one year, where my little family and some of my friends could all get together with our kids and have a Christmas away together. That’d be cool.
DO YOU OPEN YOUR PRESENTS ON CHRISTMAS EVE OR CHRISTMAS MORNING?
Christmas morning! Is there even any other way?
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS MEMORY?
Not really. I probably do from being younger, but a lot of my more recent Christmas memories are tied up with my daughter’s birthday, as she was born roughly two weeks before Christmas Day.
BE HONEST: DO YOU LIKE GIVING GIFTS OR RECEIVING GIFTS BETTER?
I think giving them, because I love to see how happy someone is to be getting something unexpected. Obviously getting a gift is nice too though!
FAVOURITE FESTIVE FOOD?
I do love a bit of Christmas pudding and cream. Or the tangerines you get at Christmas…I don’t know why!
FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SCENTS?
Snow, pine trees and candles.
DO YOU HAVE ANY CHRISTMAS EVE TRADITIONS?
Wrapping things up and setting out some surprises for my little girl. I don’t go in for all this Christmas Eve box stuff, it’s a bit strange to me.
WHAT TOPS YOUR TREE?
I think it’s a golden wire star that has a load of red petals wrapped inside it. Although ours isn’t actually up yet – whoops!
HAVE YOU EVER HAD A WHITE CHRISTMAS?
Yes. I’m in the North East, we get the brunt of a lot of severe weather.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONG?
The Power Of Love by Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
IS YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE REAL OR FAKE?
It’s a fake one, mainly for convenience and also
ARE YOU A PROFESSIONAL PRESENT WRAPPER OR DO YOU FAIL MISERABLY?
I have to say, it’s one of my main skills in life. I’m pretty good at it, which is a bit of a nightmare to be honest because it falls down to me to do the lot usually!
WHAT MAKES THE HOLIDAYS SPECIAL FOR YOU?
Seeing how happy my little girl is to have her birthday, then Christmas all in the space of a fortnight. It’s kind of stressful at times but it’s also nice to have it all at the same sort of time! Also it’s a nice time to reflect on the ending of another year and start thinking ahead to the new one.
I’ll admit, I’m not really the most Christmassy of people anymore. I used to be, but it’s tinged with a few sad memories for me as well nowadays. As the years go by though, it’s getting much more bearable for me, so I’m trying to fend off my inner humbug! Peace and goodwill and all that jazz.
I nominate the following blogger pals to get involved with the Christmas tag:
Writer, tweeter and illustrator. Starving artist and thrifting expert. Pen for hire and first-time author at work.
